Full Job Description

Working across the Raytheon UK core business areas, partnering with key stakeholders to understand business challenges and capability gaps. The learning and development adviser will develop relationships with multiple stakeholders to support a range of learning programmes, projects and develop the capabilities of learning management system for an great user experience.

What you'll do:

Forge Relationships

  • Support the learning and development partner with a range of learning projects, providing advice and ideas to support future organisational capabilities

  • Work with stakeholders to coordinate the induction programme, ensuring it remains relevant, engaging and is delivered to a high-quality standard

  • Support the organisation with the performance impact communication and monitoring metrics, ensuring a positive experience for line managers and employees

  • Maintaining a database of our training providers, business coaches and technical trainers and proactively seeking feedback of existing providers and information regarding new suppliers, working with supply chain team for effective supplier on-boarding


  • Strategic Guidance
  • Monitor relationships with external vendors, consultants tracking purchase orders and forecasted spend across the learning and development budget

  • Provide reports from the learning management system, tracking usage and quality and providing insights into improvements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate learning and development initiatives into other processes such as performance management, total rewards, talent mobility, policies, employee engagement, DE&I etc

  • Keep the policies for early careers and learning updated and relevant working with the Organisational Effectiveness team as required


  • Innovative Solutions
  • Enable access to learning programmes through communications and Sharepoint/EmpowerU and work with the communications teams to effectively market learning opportunities

  • Increase the effectiveness of learning with digital toolkits to support learning at the point of need, as well as develop digital resources that drive cultural behaviour change through regular 'nudges' and engaging content

  • Working with stakeholders to transform the way people learn through digital learning and other learning activities, ensuring accountability is on the individual and encouraged by their manager (shared learning, manager forums, digital cafes, pushing EmpowerU and LinkedIn Learning, Blue Ocean etc.). Content advise and supporting engaging and impactful experiences

  • Analyse reports and metrics, identify, create, and embed innovative ways to continuously promote the importance of learning and development


  • Stakeholder Support
  • Provide administration and advise on learning and development programmes (staff and management development), ensuring our people are able to access the development and support they need whether it be delivered online, internally, or by external sources

  • Coordination and organisation of logistics, venues, audience members, hotel bookings, budgeting and support during delivery sessions, creation and administration of evaluation methods, communications, and reporting

  • Develop user guides and how to videos to support staff with their learning journeys

  • Support the learning network and internal champions for learning and development advice

  • Be the "go to" person for the People and Culture Team and staff for any queries in relation to learning and development

  • Proactive in managing and collaborating on various initiatives/projects (anticipate needs, discern priorities and meet deadlines)

    Collaborative and engaging approach to working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Effective administration and planning skills, able to take in a variety of tasks and form effective plans, avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide advice and guidance to others.

  • Good knowledge and competent user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)

  • Able to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships and ability to work effectively with others to agree robust solutions.

  • Good networking skills and confidence in dealing with individuals at all levels within an organisation

  • Computer based training and recording software - Workday LMS, LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Word)

  • CORE apprentice


  • Desirable:
  • Knowledge of the Cyber security/Software, defence or Aerospace or similar technical recruitment disciplines

  • Knowledge of working with learning management platforms for storing and reporting learning information for stakeholders

  • CORE champion

  • CIPD Level Learning and Development or Human Resources qualification

  • Data analysis or analytical software - Excel, or advanced reporting capability using excel

  • Good presentation skills and ability to present confidently to key stakeholders.
