An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint an inspirational, ambitious and dedicated SRP Lead Teacher to create and develop a new provision for pupils with ASD at Folkestone Academy. The provision will open in September 2024 in a purpose-built space. Initially, the SRP will provide support for 6 pupils in Year 7 and will eventually have the capacity to offer 30 places for pupils with an EHCP for ASD. We also aim for the exceptional work within the SRP to have a positive impact on other pupils with ASD in the school and across the Trust.
We are looking for a leader with a passion for securing the highest levels of inclusive practice to enable every pupil in the SRP and beyond to thrive and be successful.
Working as part of the SEND team at FA and across the wider trust, you would have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues to implement effective and innovative strategies to support our young people.

+ be dedicated to securing exceptional provision for pupils with SEND, sharing best practice with colleagues
+ have an excellent understanding of how to deliver high effective provision for pupils with ASD
+ have experience of coaching other colleagues to improve their practice for pupils with SEND
+ employ excellent interpersonal skills, supporting colleagues, parents and pupils to make a great team and improve provision
+ have a specialist qualification in ASD, or be willing to work towards such an accreditation
+ employ excellent interpersonal skills, supporting colleagues, parents and pupils to make a great team and improve provision
+ have the drive to make a real difference to the lives of pupils in an area of coastal disadvantage and fully embrace the diverse community
+ be a real team player
+ be able to challenge and motivate others to achieve outstanding practice
