BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 2000 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK Defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISTAR Services, Through Life Support for the Chinook and Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.

This position is for a Maintenance Operations Specialist to support Boeing Defence UK's Maintenance and Modification capabilities across multiple sites and aircraft types in the UK, and continued growth in these areas. This is a full-time role based at Bristol with hybrid working options and travel to other sites as required.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Working with the BDUK Operations and Programme teams to develop innovative aircraft Maintenance Repair Organisations (MRO) solutions and support the development of BDUK operations functions proposals for future platform capability.

  • Working with SMEs / focals for each aircraft platform at each site and lead the lead the development of Vertical Lift and Fixed Wing new capability and future enhancements for aircraft such as the Chinook, Apache, Poseidon and Wedgetail. The role will also support the Operations functions developing functional SME support to autonomous systems.

  • Working directly to Operations Senior Business Manager, the Maintenance Operations Support Specialist will play a key role during proposal and estimation, mobilization and provide key support to the teams delivering aircraft maintenance services in execution.

  • Act as subject matter expert during all aspects of planning and estimating during proposal solution development


  • With a background in aircraft maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) the Maintenance Operations Support Specialist will have a wealth of knowledge and experience in MRO processes, techniques and best practice.

    Regulation:

    Processes:

    Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Aircraft Maintenance departments/disciplines. Knowledge of the interaction between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-maintenance processes (e.g., Engineering, Supply, Logistics, Business).

    Analytical Skills (Technical):

    Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.

  • Previous experience of working across MRO functions such as shop floor maintenance/production, technical planning, production planning, production control, technical services with experience of the SAP or GOLD MRO ERP system's the Maintenance Operations Support


  • Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Ability to interact with senior military and company officials

  • Ability to work independently under time constraints and pressure

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Possess detailed knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures

  • Proficiency working in a multi-disciplined environment


  • Work Authorisation: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom.     Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance requiring 5 years continuous residency in the UK

    Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
