Lead Analyst - Technical Accounting

This individual will be reporting directly to a Finance Manager in Group Reporting and Accounting, this role requires an adaptable and technically competent individual to work in a technically specialist team. The Group Reporting and Accounting team provides the business with support on technical accounting matters and prepares the monthly consolidation of the Group's financials, along with quarterly and annual Group financial statements for internal and external reporting.

As a Lead Analyst, you will be tasked with effectively communicating accounting principles, policies, and financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

Your mission? To conduct thorough research on complex accounting issues and provide clear and concise recommendations to management.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Proactively coordinate with functional areas of the business on projects involving new ventures and one-off transactions to identify and develop solutions for technical accounting issues


• Support the preparation of the more technically complex areas of the group financial statements, including cash flow statements, pensions, tax and financial instruments disclosures


• Utilise financial reporting tools, primarily Oracle EPM and SAP, and automation to drive efficiencies in the preparation and review process


• Be a key contact for the parent company's financial reporting team and external auditors, ensuring deliverables are provided on time and queries are dealt with efficiently


• Draft sections of quarterly financial reporting papers for presentation to the Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee and the Board


• Prepare and present monthly close performance metrics and key issues to the stakeholders and Senior Leadership Team members, continually seeking ways to improve the quality and relevance of metrics and drive the resolution of issues

Successfully managing and coordinating the external audit relating to treasury, tax, and pensions, ensuring readiness, and addressing audit findings efficiently.


• A qualified professional capable of numerical analysis for Accounting


• Proficiency in the use of MS Office


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Strong team management skills


• High attention to detail and organisational skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment


• Understanding of best practice controls environment


• Experience in multinational companies


• Experience in financial services and/or IFRS 9
