Full Job Description

We rely on the support of our volunteers to help provide a unique and vital service to our clients. As a small local charity, volunteers are essential to Catching Lives staying open every day of the week. Currently, we are looking for:

Kitchen Volunteers

Opportunities 7 days a week. 8:30 am - 1:30 pm

  • 3-4 Kitchen Volunteers per shift

  • Meat is provided every day, and volunteers decide and prepare meals with ingredients from our pantry

  • We are always looking for volunteers with at least basic cooking skills to help us prepare and serve

  • Ideally looking for people who can volunteer regularly (for example, a set day a week) but are open to accepting volunteers on an ad-hoc basis to fill gaps

Catching Lives is an independent charity supporting people who are sleeping rough, homeless or insecurely housed in Canterbury and East Kent; people who have, for many reasons, fallen through the gaps in society and feel they have nowhere else to turn., We are always happy to discuss any other ideas you have about how we could benefit from the skills and experiences you have.

  • Why Join Us?
  • This is a chance to gain more in-depth knowledge about the services we offer clients and an understanding of the causes of homelessness and its effects on people's lives.

  • Valuable experience within the charity sector/ strengthen C.V.

  • Supporting the Homeless, Rough Sleepers and Vulnerably Housed clients who access the services at Catching Lives

  • Your support as a Volunteer allows the Centre to change the lives of those who would otherwise be forgotten or lost through the cracks of larger and more structured charities.

  • New Volunteer: Kitchen Assistant for Catching Lives charity in Canterbury, as advertised on The JobsBoard.

The JobsBoard supports Catching Lives with free advertising for their vacancies.

Every year, our support helps large and small charities to find the people they need to continue their good work. Be part of making a difference.
