Full Job Description

Working pattern: 5 days over 7 - 3 different shifts (morning, afternoon, night) depending on business' preference.
Key responsibilities The key responsibilities of a kitchen porgter typically involve ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for food preparation. Here's a breakdown of the key responsibilities:

  • Cleaning Surfaces: Thoroughly clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces, including countertops, prep tables, sinks, and stovetops. This involves removing food particles, grease, and other debris.

  • Equipment Cleaning: Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and refrigerators. This includes disassembling, scrubbing, and reassembling equipment as needed.

  • Dishwashing: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen items using industrial dishwashing equipment or by hand. Ensure that all items are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored in their designated areas.

  • Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and scrub kitchen floors to remove dirt, spills, and stains. Pay special attention to high-traffic areas and areas prone to food spills.

  • Trash Removal: Empty trash bins and recycling containers, replacing liners as needed. Dispose of waste according to established procedures and regulations.

  • Restocking Supplies: Ensure that cleaning supplies, such as detergents, sanitizers, and trash bags, are adequately stocked and available for use. Notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
