Full Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Kitchen Manager to be based on site at the UK's largest prison; HMP Oakwood, WV10 7QD. This is a permanent role which will predominantly involve working predominantly Monday to Friday and reports into the General Manager on site.

As Kitchen Manager you role will be to oversee the running of a main kitchen to include high volume food production for staff, inmates and visitors. Additionally, you will have line responsibility of c12 direct reports.

An enhanced security clearance will be required to be successful in this role which can take c3 months.,

  • Managing a team of 12 staff to include all recruitment, onboarding, training, development plans, appraisals, performance management, offboarding etc

  • Management of the main kitchen and food production which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner for 2100 inmates

  • Budget and stock management

  • Internal and external stakeholder management

  • Compliance with statutory legislation/company policy food safety and health and safety including HACCP and allergen awareness

  • Menu management

    Experience in a people management role and demonstrated experience managing a team to success

  • A strong culinary background managing high volume food production to tight budgets

  • A resilient and hardworking individual who is comfortable working in a prison environment
