Beautiful, historic Lympne Castle is undergoing a period of refurbishment before expanding operations, and we seek to recruit valuable staff to join us for our exciting launch. Join the new Lympne Castle team and make fairy tale dreams come true while working in a breath-taking environment with a supportive team., Job description: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Square of the Grounds to join our team and perform gardening work of maintenance and upkeep for our historic castle's grounds. The successful candidate will have the necessary skills and experience to help ensure that the castle's gardens and grounds are kept in pristine condition and that they continue to delight and inspire visitors.

This is a 7-day /week hospitality operation. As such, weekend and evening work will be required.

Responsibilities:
Assist with the maintenance and care of the castle's gardens and grounds (139 acres), including lawns, flowerbeds, trees, shrubs, driveway, parking lot and produce garden(s).
Help implement landscaping projects, including the installation of new features, such as fountains or pathways.
Help maintain a comprehensive plant inventory and conduct appropriate maintenance and pest control measures.
Ensure that all equipment and machinery are well-maintained and in good working order.
Maintain the castle's hedges and borders, ensuring that they are trimmed and shaped regularly.
Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the castle's water features, such as fountains, ponds, and streams.
Assist with pest control measures & management of any encroachment of pests on an urgent basis.
Assist with waste management for the castle grounds.
Ensure that the castle's grounds are safe for visitors, identifying and mitigating any potential hazards.

To be considered, the following criteria need to be met

Do you have a passion for gardening and horticulture? Do you love to be outdoors? Do you want to create beauty for thousands of people to enjoy? This might be the perfect opportunity for you!, At least one year of experience in a similar role.
Strong horticultural knowledge and skills, with a good understanding of plant identification, growth, and maintenance.

Good knowledge of health and safety regulations related to garden and grounds maintenance.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise within the team and with other departments and external contractors as needed.

A reliable method of transport is recommended due to the remote location and shift work.
