Full Job Description

Working from our small modern and professional workshop in Fareham, you will be responsible for machining, assembling and constructing various traditional and modern wooden products.

Must be able to undertake all aspects of bench joinery. The successful candidate will be qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent, able to work on own initiative. Expected to have your own personal hand tools. We manufacture a very wide range of all types of joinery and associated products so every day can be a new challenge.

As a Wood Machinist / Joiner your duties will include -

· Undertaking site surveys of existing, to be replaced, wooden products.

· Sourcing timber by size, strength and budget for woodworking or joinery projects

· Measure / strike out timber for cutting & machining.

· Machining timber components using powered machines and hand tools.

· Assemble wooden components using traditional / modern techniques, ranging from,

but not limited to, doors and frames, windows of all types, stairs and stair components.

· Install hardware and fittings onto finished products.

· Ensure all finished products meet quality standards.

· Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time., Operating over 20 years with an established customer base, Hi-Tech employ a variety of around 80 trades people, with skillsets ranging from general builders, joiners and multi-trade to electricians, plumbers, carpenters and roofers, all producing work to the highest standards.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

· Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in bench Joinery.

· Have experience using joinery machinery in a manufacturing environment.

· Ability to work on own initiative.

· Full Driving Licence

The role is based at our workshop in Fareham, working hours are 07:00 to 16.00 Monday to Friday. Overtime available and weekends to suit the business manufacture programme.
