Full Job Description

You will be required to support people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs into paid employment and/or voluntary positions and work experience. You will be flexible and creative in supporting individuals to access employment and be able to identify and overcome barriers to employment that the people we support face. You should have experience of working with individuals with a range of disabilities, with the ability to effectively communicate and work in a person-centred way, to meet unique needs. You will have positive conversations, using a holistic and person centred approach. By really getting to know an individual, as a Job Coach, you will be able to identify creative and meaningful ways to provide support, enabling individuals to work as independently as possible and sustain employment. Your role will also require you to approach and build relationships with businesses to secure work placements, work trials and ultimately long term job opportunities.
You will have the opportunity to work from our local area office in Bradford and working from home options are also available. The role may also involve some travel to Leeds to support supported employment project development in this area.

To be a great Job Coach, you don't necessarily need to come from a social care background but if you have a keen interest in making a difference and engaging with people and you are patient, empathetic and a good communicator then we would like to hear from you. You will also need good IT and self-management skills and a flexible approach. You will also have the ability to market individuals or services, have an understanding of the supported employment process and basic knowledge of social enterprises. Travel is a must, as you will be job coaching individuals in and around the City of Bradford, alongside meeting employers across the city. Working as part of the wider Supported Employment Team, specialists are on hand to provide expert advice and support in best practice, inclusion, quality and health and safety, providing exceptional support and making a difference to people's lives.
