Full Job Description

The Support Technician will report to the IT Manager and be responsible for providing face-to-face and remote support to end users and resolving both software and hardware issues that may arise. You will also have the opportunity get involved with and tackle some exciting project work, alongside your team, while assisting with server support where required.

You will be expected to participate in an on-call rota, as well as providing support outside of contracted hours, on occasions, where the business requires it.

What you'll do:

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Provide a high level of desktop support

  • Assisting with the deployment of new hardware

  • Maintaining a high level of interaction with users and management at all levels of the business.

  • Ensuring all departmental documentation is maintained and up to date.

  • Managing Active Directory, including user creation, MS365, GPO, Printing etc.

  • Assisting with proactive maintenance, updates, upgrades, and administration of the server stack (on Prem and Cloud)

  • Arranging system maintenance.

  • Supporting and maintaining backup software and recovery points.

  • Helping maintain network services: DHCP, DNS, Firewalls, Switches, Wi-Fi

  • Liaising with suppliers, computer support and maintenance companies.

  • Maintaining Endpoint protection on all company user devices.

  • Providing regular IT presence on all company sites.

  • Completing tasks set by the IT leadership and business management team

  • The desire to learn new technologies and processes.


  • Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a 1st/2nd line support role.

  • Excellent Windows desktop knowledge.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365.

  • Good knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.

  • Basic understanding of networking principles (DHCP, DNS, VLANs).

  • Proven track record in learning new skills and technologies.

  • Full UK driving licence and own transport.

  • ShoreTel/Mitel UC

  • Meraki Wi-Fi

  • SQL query

  • Hospitality / hotelier experience
