Full Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated individual, with a keen interest in all aspects of Information Technology, to provide support to students and staff in the use of ICT

As our IT Support Technician, you will be the first line of support for students and staff queries relating to the hardware and software used throughout the College, logging service desk calls using Jira Service Desk, assigning them to appropriate team members and tracking them to resolution.

More specifically, you will be supporting students and staff using iPads, Windows PCs, Chromebooks and Macs, including issuing and managing mobile devices. In terms of software applications, you will primarily be supporting users with Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint), and our in-house developed Staff, Student and Parent Portals.

You should be comfortable installing hardware (including computers, monitors, networking equipment) and diagnosing hardware faults, remediating or escalating issues. This might not necessarily be in a business/education setting, instead you may be the person that friends and family members turn to when they have a technical problem.

We understand that you may not have experience in all aspects of this role which is why are looking for someone with an avid interest in all aspects of Information Technology, excellent customer service skills and a willingness to develop their skills.

This contract will be on a permanent, full year basis, working 37 hours per week and commencing as soon as the successful candidate is available, following safeguarding and recruitment checks.

The successful candidate will be appointed to point 6 of the College's Salary Structure for Support Staff, currently £23,162 p.a, for full time.

Annual leave entitlement is 22 days per annum in addition to public holidays, rising to 25 days after 5 years' continuous service.
