Full Job Description

The IT Support Engineer will provide technical support to staff including resolving IT incidents, fulfilling service requests, and contributing to the maintenance, upgrading, replacement and continuous improvement of internal systems, networks, servers and desktop/laptop estate.

The role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as strong technical knowledge and experience. The successful candidate will be expected to keep up to date with new and emerging technologies and make recommendations for their adoption where appropriate.

The role will operate within the ITIL framework to ensure that incidents and service requests are managed in a timely and effective manner.

Please note that international travel will be required to service our global offices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to staff for IT incidents and service requests, via telephone, email, remote access, or in person.

  • Ensure that all incidents and service requests are logged, prioritised, escalated and resolved within agreed service level targets.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.

  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications, operating systems, and hardware components.

  • Contribute to the maintenance, upgrading, replacement and continuous improvement of internal systems, networks, servers and desktop/laptop estate.

  • Participate in testing and deployment of new software applications and hardware components.

  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, patching, and security monitoring.

  • Keep accurate records of IT assets, licenses, and warranties.

  • Provide technical training and guidance to staff on the use of IT systems and software.

  • Follow ITIL-based processes for incident management, problem management, change management, and service level management.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of IT policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Keep up to date with new and emerging technologies and make recommendations for their adoption where appropriate.

  • Liaise with third-party suppliers and service providers as required.

  • Travel internationally to service our global offices.

    5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or higher, or equivalent IT qualification (NVQ level 1/2, CompTIA etc.).

  • ITIL Foundation certification.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in IT support or related role.

  • Experience in financial services or related industry preferred.

  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Exchange Online, and networking technologies.

  • Experience with ITIL-based incident management, problem management, change management, and service level management.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritise workloads.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
