Full Job Description

Reporting directly to Head of IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture, the role will have responsibility of all IT Disaster Recovery testing throughout the yearly program. Development of policies, procedures, and plans for effective disaster recovery. Ensures all server estates are protected with replication, data replication, network resiliency and application-level resiliency. You will work closely with the Architecture team to streamline and improve on current RPO & RTO benchmarks and consult with the wider organisation on their business continuity plans.

What you will be doing

  • Coordinates with business and technical teams to plan and implement disaster recovery capabilities and processes.

  • Monitors compliance with regulatory requirements and DR policies.

  • Identifies risks, develops contingency plans, and tests their effectiveness.

  • Coordinates a yearly program of DR testing.

  • Develop improvements to current Architecture to improve current PRO & RTO.

  • Ensures virtual server protection, data replication, network resiliency, and application-level resiliency.

  • Monitors IT recovery state and associated technical capabilities.

  • Coordinates disaster preparedness training for business continuity.

  • Documentation of all process and procedures.

  • Reports on cloud DR processes to meet Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).

  • Understand IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage, and databases.

  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.

  • Ability to manage DR projects, coordinate tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

  • Knowledge of backup and recovery tools, data replication, and system restoration.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Understand industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 22301) and legal requirements.
