Investment Manager

Venturing is an integral part of our company strategy to help accelerate technologies and business models that enable the energy transition. You will be an integral part of our Venture Capital team to help us take strategic investments into companies that can help us tap into new markets and de-risk our future. You develop a deep understanding of specific growth fields, build a focused network, high quality deal flow, and bring strategic opportunities to investment decision and value creation. Using the strengths of Siemens Energy for value creation and strategic returns conversion is one key aspect of how we bring value and you bring the creativity to make this happen.
How you will make an impact
Investments and portfolio

• You originate and evaluate investment opportunities in line with the Ventures strategy and specifically for assigned growth fields, in collaboration with our business partners.


• Work with relevant business partners to understand strategic fit, viability, and strategic return potential of specific opportunities.


• Present and discuss top investment opportunities up to SE Board level.


• Conduct due diligence of promising investment opportunities, develop deal strategy and bring opportunities to closure on behalf of the company.


• Take up Board responsibilities (Advisory / Directorship) in portfolio companies and work with founders / other board members to drive growth, value creation and strategic returns.


• Develop insights from assigned growth fields that inform strategy and convert into content and reports.


• Maintaining a close collaboration with the business partners to ensure that ventures activities are appropriately shared to increase the potential of strategic value realization through deployments, commercial agreements, or market insights.


Partner management

• Develop and maintain relationships with key external partners relevant to assigned growth field(s) including entrepreneurs, investors, bankers, and strategic partners.


• Strategy


• Actively drive investment strategy by contributing with specific proposals and insights from assigned growth field(s) into the Ventures strategy process.


• Support strategic projects as assigned.


• Other responsibilities


• Support reporting, portfolio reviews, ad hoc board presentations, etc. as required to perform as a team.


• Contribute to communications strategy and implementation.
  
  You have previous experience and a proven track record of having invested in and collaborated with startups successfully in a corporate environment, private equity or accelerator in energy technology / climate technology.


• You are experienced in structuring and negotiating value creating partnerships and understand what it takes to scale up emerging technologies and supporting founders


• You convince with a strong analytical mind, both technical and financial, including financial modeling


• You can communicate your thoughts and ideas clearly, verbally and written, and you are able to navigate corporate stakeholders and partners.


• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships on various levels.


• You pay attention to detail, deliver on-time, and have great organizational skills.


• You can work to tight deadlines, respond to changing requirements and deal with conflicting priorities.


• Dealing with uncertainty and ambiguous business environment with few precedents comes natural to you.


• You are a team player, and you can get into the details yourself, working independently and autonomously.


• University degree, ideally in finance or engineering, full written and spoken proficiency in English is vital.
