Full Job Description

An ISO will be responsible for supporting Investigations by:

  • Undertaking evidence collection to support a mixed team of Police Officers and staff.

  • Recording witness accounts in the form of a statement

  • Supporting missing person investigations (MIST Team or MISO officers)

  • The Assessment and Investigation Unit based across the three Counties,

  • Viewing CCTV or other media to identify investigative opportunities

  • House to house enquiries and exhibit handling as directed by supervisor

  • Necessity to attend court to provide evidence (as and when required).

    Have a good standard of education, including English GCSE (grade 9-1, A-C or Key Skills Level 2 or equivalent)

  • Be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications

  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with both staff and members of the public

  • A proven ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads

  • Be flexible approach to working as some evening and weekend work might be required on occasion.

  • Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered Essential.

    Vetting. All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
