Full Job Description

The role holder will work with the Communications and Responsible Business team and other key stakeholders to create and schedule communications activity and content across our channels which supports our business objectives and engages hearts and minds in our Canada Life story.
This is an entry level role, working alongside the business as part of a small, highly skilled, passionate and dedicated team. The successful candidate will be a quick starter, organised, digitally savvy and a creative thinker who is keen to learn and develop their skills in internal communications.
Responsibilities:
1) Plan, edit and write engaging content for a variety of digital channels, ensuring consistent tone of voice and in line with our brand look and feel.
2) Support and facilitate the co-ordination of the central internal communications content calendar and keep updated with input from the wider team and key stakeholders.
3) Point of contact for building and scheduling various email communications through our internal email platform.
4) Support with planning and delivery of internal events, including scheduling, preparation of presentations, and coordinating logistics as required.
5) Support Senior Communications Manager and wider team to deliver communications for ad-hoc projects and piece of priority work as required.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools such as MS Teams, SharePoint, Viva Engage is desirable

  • Strong writing and editing skills

  • Eye for detail

  • Ability to think outside the box and bring you creativity to each task

  • Quick learner, self-motivated and can hit the ground running

  • Strong time management and organisational skills are a must

  • Strong multitasking skills are a must

  • Previous communications or copywriting experience desirable but not essential


  • The role holder must have great attention to detail, be a creative thinker who can hit the ground running with digital tools to coordinate and deliver engaging, inspiring content to our colleagues.
    Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple requests and priorities.
    This position would suit a recent graduate or someone who is keen to get into a career in internal communications. The role holder doesn't need to have previous specific corporate communications experience, but strong copywriting and proof-reading skills are desirable.
    Qualifications:
    Educated to at least A level or equivalent
    Specialism in English, Journalism, Communications, public relations, marketing, or related business field is desirable.
