Full Job Description

A Group Tax Manager is required for an interesting 12 month position, with possibility to go permanent, with one of our PE backed clients in the Facilities space.

Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, and working closely with the Group CFO, this will be a pivotal position, acting as a trusted adviser to the business. It will be a varied role leading on projects including group reorgs and entity rationalisations, in addition to BAU matters including compliance oversight.

  • Collaborating closely with the Group Head of Tax to execute the tax agenda, assuming responsibility for routine Group tax matters. Liaising extensively with the Group CFO, Group Head of Treasury, and their respective teams.

  • Taking the lead on tax aspects of group reorganisation and entity rationalisation initiatives across various jurisdictions. This involves closely coordinating with external advisors to delineate tax workstreams, offering review and implementation assistance.

  • Overseeing the local corporate tax compliance process, from provisioning to finalizing corporate tax returns for all non-UK jurisdictions within the Group. Managing related aspects such as interest deductibility, loss utilisation, and tax administration.

  • Compiling tax audit schedules for external auditors, at both the Group entity and consolidation levels, ensuring timely fulfillment of information requests.

  • Managing Group tax cash forecasts and providing reviews and support for local tax payment projections.

  • Spearheading tax budget preparation and reviews for local jurisdictions and Group consolidation.

  • Collaborating with local Finance teams to ensure timely preparation and submission of VAT/GST returns, managing VAT Power of Attorney (POA), and offering assistance on cross-border indirect tax issues.

  • Maintaining the Group tax calendar, diligently tracking and meeting deadlines across all tax-related matters.

  • Assisting local jurisdiction tax and finance teams in making relevant disclosures to tax authorities, resolving tax audits, etc.

  • Delivering regular technical updates and support to Finance teams and the Group Tax team on all Group tax matters.

  • Assisting with various international tax advisory tasks, including tax residency and Permanent Establishment (PE) risks, withholding tax clearance requests, group reorganizations, BEPS Pillar 2 readiness, and Controlled Foreign Company (CFC) reviews.

  • Overseeing cash repatriation across the group, advising Group Treasury and Finance teams on tax-efficient repatriation plans by jurisdiction, and collaborating on tax implications of loan restructuring initiatives.

  • Offering tax advice on acquisitions, reviewing Tax Due Diligence (DD) reports on targets, considering deductibility and VAT treatment of transaction costs, and leading integration efforts of acquisitions into existing businesses while resolving existing tax issues.

  • Managing transfer pricing matters, including policy design and implementation across the group, documentation, and Country-by-Country (CbC) notification requirements by jurisdiction, as well as CbC reporting preparation and submission.

  • Collaborating with the business on the design and implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, focusing on the system's requirements for Group tax purposes.
