Full Job Description

The insight team's purpose is to inspire insight-led proposition decisions by understanding Customers, Colleagues and the markets we operate in better than anyone.

Our key priorities are setting the customer agenda by expertly orchestrating multiple sources of data to identify, size and prioritise customer growth opportunities, frame propositions and measure their success. Robust and agile analytics, research, commercialisation, business partnering, storytelling, curation and redefining insight are our team's key jobs. In this role you will use expertise in Data Analytics to create deep insights about our customers to support a programme that meets our strategic goals.
You will be responsible for

  • Building the analytics roadmap for one of the UKs largest loyalty schemes - Tesco Clubcard. Using the power of Clubcard data, you will be working on all aspects of the scheme including future strategy, propositions & CRM

  • Taking business problems and framing them, so they can be answered using analytical methods - diagnostics, models, visualisations, segmentations - against the vast amounts of behavioural, financial, marketing, market and operational data collected by Tesco and our partners across the Group

  • Collaborating with other analysts in the UK, in Bengaluru or through our wider agency partnerships

  • Innovating analytics to continuously improve the wider team's impact, efficiency and consistency, taking the time to share with and learn from the analytics community in Tesco

  • Being passionate and inspiring about data and how we can use it to solve problems, predict behaviours, explore customer needs, understand performance, forecast future outcomes and find opportunities for Tesco

  • Balancing short term needs against the longer term benefits of broader team data literacy and increased analytics capability

  • Explaining complex analytics and science approaches clearly so that they are easily understood by non-analysts

  • Working closely with our Insight team to best communicate insight to colleagues through inspiring visualisations, impactful storytelling and embedding knowledge

    Strong analytics experience

  • Use of big data environments and data visualisation tools (preferably Hadoop & Tableau)

  • Skilled in using statistical models and data analytics tools e.g. SQL is required. Strong MS Excel & Powerpoint

  • Problem solving skills, as well as commercial savviness

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence

  • Strong collaboration mentality
