Full Job Description

  • Manage the Document Control team for the region and assign to projects as required.

  • Support the implementation of Sisk systems and processes for the Common Data Environment and digital field tool across the business unit, through the supply chain and with design teams for each project.

  • Upon project reward, establish Common Data Environment (CDE), Digital Field Tool and develop protocol documents and ensure implementation across the business unit in line with latest ISO 19650 requirements and client requirements (where applicable).

  • Develop and keep updated company-wide forms and processes in the digital tool in line with the format approved by the various functional departments within Sisk.

  • Ensure each project in the Common Data Environment and the Digital Field Tool are in line with Sisk templates and protocols.

  • Assist the project team in the implementation of the Sisk file naming protocols in the creation and archiving of electronic documentation.

  • Attend the Tender Handover Meeting and Project Start-up Meeting to capture knowledge from preconstruction stage and enable the migration of information to the CDE at project mobilisation stage.

  • Migrate all tender stage information to VFP/Dalux in compliance with the standard folder structures and filename naming protocols.

  • Undertake new user training sessions within the business unit and across projects in group sessions or, in certain circumstances, on an individual basis.

  • Issue monthly reports on the usage of the platforms in accordance with the standard reporting template

  • Plan and undertake scheduled and unscheduled compliance audits of the CDE and Digital Field Tool system and issue an audit report.

  • Act as the Business Unit point of contact for ad-hoc queries and troubleshooting in respect of the CDE, Digital Field Tool or document control procedures.

  • Actively seek feedback from the Business Unit employees on the use of CDE and Digital Field Tool and communicate this information to ISM's in other regions and management.


  • Management Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the recruitment team, interview and select project Document Controllers for projects where required.

  • Train Document Controllers on projects within the business unit to Project Document Controller level and fulfil a supporting role during the project lifecycle.

  • Train Document Controllers and liase with Design Managers to create and manage workflows to support the project requirements in the Common Data Environment in compliance with Sisk protocols.

  • Complete monthly allocations for the Document Control team as agreed with the project teams in line with prelims.

  • Train and support the wider project teams and supply chain on projects within the business unit.

  • Conduct the PDP process annually and bi-annually with the Document Control team.

  • Ensure projects comply with company standards and procedures.

    Possess an advanced understanding of the practical application of document control procedures, including effective, and complex workflows, change control and change management.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with and educate all stakeholders in Common Data Environment and Digital Field Tool protocols, ensuring the protocols are strictly adhered to.

  • Demonstrate full understanding and competency of ISO 19650 and use this knowledge to underpin every aspect of the role where applicable.

  • Understand the user rights control matrix as laid out in the Sisk protocols.

  • Strong Presentation, Communication and Training skills are essential.

  • Possesses attention to detail.

  • Interest in wider digital projects and industry changes / advancements.

  • Ability to interrogate / manipulate 3D models

  • Analytical thinker

  • Previous experience in managing a team


  • Underpinning Training & CPD
  • Intermediate level in all Microsoft Office packages.

  • Understanding of latest ISO 19650 requirements.

  • Advanced user of a common data environment, Viewpoint & Dalux.

  • Advanced administrator of a digital field tool, Field View & Dalux

  • Training in BIM Level 2, in addition to continuing study in this area.

  • Training/presentation skills.

  • People management.

  • Interview skills.

  • Report and KPI writing.
