Join the Infection Prevention and Control team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 6 Infection Prevention and Control Specialist Nurse!
Predominantly based at Weston General Hospital in Weston-super-Mare you'll play a vital role in enhancing infection prevention practices and minimising hospital-acquired infections across UHBW.
This position offers you the opportunity to gain a formal infection prevention and control qualification within this developmental position, should you not already be qualified., You will be supporting the provision of good infection prevention and control practices and providing advice and continuous education to the Trust. This will involve collaboratively working with the Lead Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to drive our infection prevention and control agenda forward at a local level.
This includes:
+ Deliver specialist infection prevention and control advice and support to clinical and non-clinical services
+ Assess infection risks and advice on isolation requirements
+ Educate and upskill new members of the team and develop the future of UHBW
+ Support the team in managing key infection prevention and control improvement initiatives, the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Our Infection Prevention and Control Team is a multidisciplinary team; including the Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC), microbiologists, infection prevention and control nurses, and an antimicrobial pharmacist.
