Full Job Description

SEN Support: Must have experience in working with children with special educational needs (SEN), providing targeted support and accommodations as required.

Individualised Support: Work closely with a 9 year old student on a one-on-one or small group basis, providing tailored assistance to meet their unique learning needs.

Classroom Management: Help maintain a safe and conducive learning environment, promoting positive behaviour and resolving conflicts when necessary.

Resource Preparation: Assist in preparing teaching materials, resources, and equipment to provide effective support.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and fellow team members to foster a strong sense of community, ensuring effective communication and cooperation.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and any relevant observations, as directed by the lead teacher.

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant and/or with SEN children is necessary.

A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational development.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.

Flexibility and adaptability to work within a dynamic educational environment.

Empathy, patience, and a nurturing demeanour to create a supportive atmosphere for students.

A proactive approach to learning and a willingness to participate in professional development opportunities.,

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred), classroom or teaching: 1 year (required)
