Full Job Description

The People & Culture team is responsible for ensuring that Schroders maximises the return on its investment in people and does this through the development and implementation of policies and practices that attract, reward, and retain high quality employees, to achieve business objectives in line with our values and strategic goals., As the Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, communicating, and monitoring our I&D proposition both internally and externally. Your role is crucial in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion at Schroders, ensuring that our policies, practices, benefits, and talent development programs align with these principles. You will play a key role in defining and monitoring key performance indicators, identifying gaps, and driving meaningful change. Additionally, you will be responsible for reporting on workforce demographics, representation at different levels, and employee engagement and turnover rates by demographic groups.

This role offers a great opportunity for an I&D champion to engage with internal stakeholders, educate and raise awareness, and ensure alignment with legislative requirements and our overall goals. You will also have an external focus, engaging with I&D thought leadership networks to gain insight and share best practices. As the I&D Specialist, you will advocate for employees, providing guidance and support on I&D matters, facilitating dialogue, and addressing concerns to ensure equal opportunities for growth and advancement.,

  • Developing and deploying the I&D roadmap to foster an inclusive culture and celebrate diversity globally. This involves setting goals, defining key performance indicators, providing insights on organizational data, and driving meaningful change;

  • Championing I&D with key stakeholders, developing action plans, and efficiently tracking progress against objectives;

  • Implementing policies to promote inclusion and diversity and ensuring compliance with regulations and reporting obligations;

  • Producing meeting materials for strategic meetings and committees;

  • Raising awareness and educating employees about the importance of I&D through events, workshops, training sessions, inclusive recruitment strategies, and awareness campaigns;

  • Effectively communicating I&D updates and events internally and externally, including responding to media inquiries;

  • Collaborating with internal bodies and external organizations to promote I&D initiatives;

  • Building external partnerships and networks to stay updated on best practices and innovation;

  • Benchmarking and evaluating existing I&D offerings, recommending improvements, and evaluating providers and partnerships;

  • Representing Schroders at external I&D events and meetings;

  • Managing the I&D budget, tracking expenses and invoicing;

  • Serving as a subject matter expert and advocate for I&D, ensuring equal opportunities for all employees and

  • Providing ad-hoc contributions to client discussions and proposals that support Schroders' commercial growth.

  • Familiarity with different dimensions of diversity, such as gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, etc, and an awareness of cultural differences and their impact in the workplace;

  • Understanding of intersectionality and its implications;

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and policies related to diversity and inclusion;

  • Experience presenting complex topics and concepts simply to a broad range of audiences;

  • Previous analytical, data analysis and presentation skills;

  • Experience of using data to build a case for change;

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously;

  • Ability to balance time sensitive priorities efficiently and navigate in a matrix environment and

  • Highly articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.


  • The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
  • Experience outside the investment management industry (we are looking for fresh ideas and innovation) and

  • An understanding of key I&D topics with experience embedding I&D as part of an organisation's culture & processes.
