Full Job Description

What it's like to work here:You'll be based within the Inclusion and Belonging Team. This is a small, friendly central team within our people department. We lead the National Trust's work on inclusion, diversity, wellbeing, children and young people, and safeguarding. You'll report to the Head of Inclusion and Belonging and be one of two Diversity and Inclusion Leads.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon. The role will require some travel to our head office and other locations to meet with colleagues and to carry out work. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. Many of us in the team work flexibly and in different locations. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing:As the Diversity and Inclusion Lead, you'll be supporting delivery of organisational-wide change.

You'll develop ways to further the knowledge, skills and confidence to embed inclusion in all that we do. You will further our work on creating an inclusive culture through designing and developing tools, resources and development opportunities.

You'll work in partnership with our networks and use diversity data to assess the impact of our work and make recommendations for change.

You'll provide specialist advice and guidance across the organisation.

Your work will focus on all aspects of inclusion and diversity, in addition to having a specific focus on developing and supporting delivery of the organisation's approach to anti-racism.

  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of equity, diversity and inclusion, including legislative frameworks, with the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical application.

  • Experience of developing inclusive practice and translating this into accessible guidance, training and policy.

  • Experience in developing and delivering race equity work.

  • Experience in developing and delivering creative solutions, from concept to launch, to build inclusive cultures across a range of internal stakeholders.

  • Experience of working with staff networks and critical friends, ensuring that specialist knowledge and lived experience is incorporated into organisational inclusion approache

  • Communication and engagement skills, with the ability to listen to staff and volunteers, creatively interpreting information to meet a wide range of needs.

  • Skills in using people insights and data to drive inclusive practice.
