Full Job Description

As an In-House Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our company's interests by providing legal expertise and guidance. Your primary focus will be to gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of our extensive "framework agreement" and effectively handle client pushback and contract negotiations. This is a senior position, and you'll have the opportunity to work remotely for the majority of your working days.,

  • Thoroughly understand our company's framework agreement, including its nuances, provisions, and implications.

  • Provide legal advice to internal teams regarding the framework agreement's interpretation and application.

  • Handle client pushback and markup related to the framework agreement.

  • Collaborate with clients, addressing their concerns while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including IT contracts and software agreements to ensure the company's full legal rights.

  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties as required.

  • Ensure the company adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Give accurate and timely counsel to internal teams on a variety of legal topics.

  • Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to internal teams.

  • Mitigate legal risks associated with client contracts and business operations.

  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.

  • Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility.

  • Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.

    Minimum 5 years PQE

  • Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in a business environment

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of contract law, intellectual property, and technology-related legal matters.

  • Established expertise advising on SaaS (software-as-a-service) contracts

  • Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a business.

  • Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.

  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.

  • Sound judgment and ability to analyse situations and information.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification (preferred).

    25 (FTE) days of annual leave increasing by 1 day each year up to 30 days
