Full Job Description
Are you an enthusiastic HR Graduate with a passion for food who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? If so, we have an exciting new opportunity to join our successful graduate scheme, known for it's early talent pathways and career advancement opportunities within ABP.
The HR Graduate will sit within the Central HR team supporting over 18 sites and will report into the Head of HR (England and Central Divisions)
Working within an established team of HR professionals each with their own area of expertise, you will have an opportunity to build upon your existing skills and continuous personal development.
On this scheme, you'll develop a broad range of HR expertise, gain experience across different disciplines, and get all the support you need to help you work towards a professional qualification and develop your career.
As part of your induction, you'll join a bootcamp in all things People and Places. After this, you'll rotate through a variety of teams - either specialist centres of expertise or generalist teams that work directly with the business.
Not only will this give you a complete view of our function but also a strong foundation as a multi-skilled HR professional. From people policies to analysing data, help deliver organisational changes, to understanding what makes our culture work, you'll learn the many and varied ways we help our teams be at their best and discover the kind of career path you could develop into.
Rotational Elements
In this program, you will be required to relocate to three very specific areas of our business to gain the broadest, most challenging, and rewarding development opportunities. Each placement will last 8 months and will be located in:-
- South West - Langport
- Shropshire - Ellesmere or Shrewsbury North East
Things you could be doing dependent on your placement:-
Supporting ABP sites covering HR Manager/teams which will require travel and overnight stays across the UK and NI.
Covering the HR functions at site
Liaising with on site employees and management teams
Recruitment and Onboarding
File Compliance
Absence Management, Disciplinary and Grievance
Liaising with Occupational Health
Employee Wellbeing and Engagement
General Support
Providing more general Ad-Hoc support to wider members of the HR team on multiple different projects and workstreams.

Compliance & Ethics Support
We are seeking graduates who have completed a CIPD or equivalent degree. Candidates should possess:
- A fervent passion and enthusiasm for HR
- Robust analytical, presentation, and IT capabilities
- Numeracy skills, confidence with figures, and the ability to process complex data
- Proficiency in IT, especially Excel
- Effective networking and influencing abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Resilient and capable of working swiftly and independently
- Possesses a full UK driving license
