Full Job Description

We're searching for a candidate with proven HR Business Partnering experience for this job, in which you'll partner with stakeholders in our School of Life and Medical Sciences (LMS.) Things you'll be doing include:

  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to add value and operationalise strategic people objectives and decisions

  • Supporting the implementation of initiatives and activities; advising, coaching and partnering with managers throughout the employment lifecycle

  • Providing an organised, timely and proactive service; utilising intelligence and insights to be evidence-based, analytical skills and excellent communication skills

  • Acting as the bridge between the client group and the Centres of Expertise within HR

  • Line managing, coaching and developing any staff members allocated

  • Working closely with local HR-focused staff within the client group

  • Working with Business Partners from other Professional Services areas (eg Finance, Estates, Information Services, Communication and Marketing).

    To do this job you'll need to have significant experience as an HR Business Partner in a large and complex organisation. If this is within the Higher Education, public sector or not profit sector then that's great, but we're very open to candidates from other sorts of organisation.

  • You'll need:
  • Experience of advising and handling a range of complex HR issues (e.g. disciplinaries, grievances, change management, TUPE)

  • Knowledge of workforce planning, succession planning and talent management and how they can be effectively implemented

  • Experience of developing and implementing people plans and/or HR solutions and is able to demonstrate the difference it made

  • Experience of improving engagement and retention of people

  • Experience of implementing successful EDI approaches/strategies
