Full Job Description

Would you like to gain experience in a frontline team providing advice and support to our most vulnerable residents?

An opportunity has arisen to join the new Help Hub Triage and Assessment Team as part of significant change in service, with our existing Help Hub and Housing triage functions merging to create a more joined up service to customers.

This role will help deliver the housing triage element of this new service, providing the first point of contact for residents with a range of needs. The team works with individuals and families to get them to the right support and advice as soon as possible., These roles help assist with the increase in phone contact and web contact we are now receiving. You take initial calls from customers, reviewing information on a variety of systems and triage people to the most appropriate service or team to meet their needs. It is an enjoyable and interactive role which is essential to support the team's specialist roles.

  • You will be the first point of contact for customers seeking help with their housing, helping resolve the customers issues where possible, or ensuring they are referred to another service quickly if needed

  • Undertaking a range of administrative work to support the work of Housing and Help Hub teams ensuring that customers have seamless access to a wide range of support

  • Keeping excellent records of customer contacts and outcomes while ensuring that information is recorded and shared within GDPR rules

  • Providing excellent customer service to a high number of customers with a housing need

  • Providing support to book appointments, undertake background research or gather information to enable effective decisions to be made

  • Supporting colleagues in the housing and benefits team with administrative work such as scanning documents and updating case notes

  • Provided with support and training on important housing topics., The Councils want to ensure all our employees have a safe comfortable place to work, ensuring that employees feel empowered to actively manage their own wellbeing both at work and at home.     5 GCSEs A-C grade or equivalent, or able to demonstrate ability at this leve

  • The ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines with a high level of attention to detail

  • Experience of developing and implementing procedures working in a team.


  • Occasional travel to temporary accommodation properties may be required.

    The Help Hub is a multi-agency partnership which has supported over 10,000 people in the last year. Our housing and benefits teams have administered almost £50million worth of benefits, provided new homes to over 1,000 people and helped over 60 people off the streets into long term sustainable housing.


  • The Help Hub Assessment and Triage team provides the bridge between our statutory housing functions and the broader multi-agency service. You will be part of a broad, multi-skilled team, with lots of opportunities to progress.
