Full Job Description

Ensuring that allocated areas, guest rooms, corridors, cleaning cupboards and stores are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and are well maintained as per the departmental standards, Routine thorough cleaning of allocated area including but not limited to: Main Hall, Melbourne Lodge, (bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors) Golf Club, Admin Offices, Staff Accommodation, Auberge du Lac, Halfway Houses, Palmerston Lounge) including all fittings and surfaces to the required standard.

  • Carry out all reasonable Guest and special requests as instructed by the Supervisor.


  • Keeping the cleaning cupboards and stores tidy and correctly stacked.


  • To always behave in a professional and polite manner towards all guests.


  • To carry out spring cleaning duties as directed by the Supervisor.


  • To report any defects and maintenance issues to the Supervisor.


  • Report and hand in items of property found.


  • Ensure health & safety procedures are followed, including manual handling and COSHH.


  • To always ensure the smooth running of the department through effective teamwork.


  • To attend any department training and/or meetings when required.


  • Maintain effective communication within the department including HOD.


  • To assist in the training and development of colleagues as and when required.


  • To assist and ensure the efficiency and smooth running of the housekeeping department

    Experience in 4-5 star hotel preferable.


  • Must be self-motivated and energetic.


  • Understand the importance of working as part of a team.


  • Well-presented personal appearance is required.


  • Ability to work to good standards in a pressurised environment.


  • Must have the desire to generate customer satisfaction.


  • Flexible.


  • Good communication and organisational skills.


  • Basic knowledge of COSHH preferable.
