Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a permanent Health & Safety Trainer to join our growing Learning and Development department at our Stonehouse or Warrington Office. Please note, this post could be remote for the right candidate.

The role is responsible for the day-to-day design and delivery of health & safety related training for Last Mile.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design and delivery of training courses, programmes and competency assessment to the highest standards


  • Implement and maintain the training facilities in line with industry and company standards


  • Follow the quality assurance plan and implement changes as required


  • Implement and follow test procedures and assessment plans, including onsite attendance, in line with company policies, industry COP's and the QMS.


  • Identify improvements and make recommendations to management and the lead IQA/IQA's for positive change.


  • Ensure the learning journey is consistent, learning outcomes and criteria are considered and reasonable adjustments are made in line with current practice and guidance.


  • Implement a plan to continuously improve our offering and strive to ensure all our course are of the highest standard


  • Support the wider Learning and Development team, providing advise and guidance on technical matters


  • Support, coach and guide learners to aid development and encourage ongoing progression


  • Report and collate data from training as required.


  • Manage external parties and providers, ensuring maximum value for Last Mile


  • Keep abreast of latest trends, developments and opportunities to ensure we're delivering best in class training


  • Any other reasonable requests made by the business.

    Presentation and communication to all levels across a utility business


  • Strong communication and presentation skills

    Proficient in IT, particularly MS Office

    Learner style awareness

    Skill scanning

    Industry COP

    Desirable:

    Previous employment within a multi utility discipline

    Quality assurance experience

    Industry body memberships (such as IET, IGEM)

    Onsite assessment practices, Essential:

    AET level 3 or equivalent

    TAQA level 3 or equivalent

    SHEA Power/Water/Gas train the trainer or willing to complete

    Full UK driving licence

    Desirable:

    National Water Hygiene certificate

    ALN support experience

    Product development

    IOSH managing safely

    Emergency first aid trainer or willingness to complete
