We are currently recruiting a high calibre full-time (36.25hrs per week - Monday to Friday; 09:00 - 17:15) Health & Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team. Immediate start is preferred.

Main duties will include:

  • Ensure Health & Safety/Environmental policies and practice are, monitored, maintained and implemented

  • Undertake monthly site visits and liaise with H&S/Environmental site representatives to provide support, identifying and arranging training if required

  • Assisting managers to implement Health & Safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and COSHH

  • Ensuring ISO standards are adhered to and consistently high levels are maintained

  • Ensuring the management system is maintained/updated, including general data entry and administration tasks, providing assistance where necessary

  • Collating, gathering documentation and adding to the internal compliance management system within assigned timescales and deadlines

  • Carrying out investigations of accidents understanding circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence

  • Monthly H&S/Compliance report submitted to the Board highlighting any issues

  • Assist with any training or support required across the business

  • Oversee regular monitoring and recording of environmental impacts and aspects.

  • Regular reporting eg. profiling energy and water consumption, analysing waste generation data and seeking strategies to reduce waste

  • Oversee 'Green House Gas Protocol'(GHG Protocol) and soon to be attained 'Science Based Targets' (SBTi)

  • Highlight areas in need of development or opportunities for increased efficiency

  • Gathering/entering carbon data for Scope 1, 2 and 3 and enter data for Scope 1 GHG Protocol approved software

  • Assistance for Consultants on a regular basis for audit and training requirements

  • Working with the external consultants to populate the compliance software system

  • Travel to other company locations, as and when required

    Graduate with relevant qualifications

  • NEBOSH qualified

  • Previous experience in H&S and Compliance

  • Ability to work on own initiative in line with guidelines

  • Highly organised with an eye for accuracy, enjoys and is capable of a fast pace of working

  • Able to be flexible regarding role content and hours of work depending on business needs/seasonal requirements

  • Adaptable, approachable and personable

  • Used to dealing with sensitive information

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • IT literate, notably Microsoft Office (including Excel, Power Point)

  • Demonstrates an enthusiastic but professional approach with a desire to develop
