Full Job Description

Do you have a strong track record of obtaining research funding with experience of successfully supporting large multi-partner proposals, and have a proven ability to manage and motivate people?

Working to deliver the University of Brighton's Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategic Plan. Your new role will see you working in collaboration with senior research managers to develop strategies for maximising research income, assist with target setting and provide analysis and reports on performance. You will manage the research pre-award bid service who work with academics to develop quality proposals and represent the University externally, lobbying for the University's interests with funders and identifying supporting partnerships.

The Department of Research and Knowledge Exchange helps to:

  • Maximise the income and impact of research, consultancy and knowledge exchange activities

  • Identify, apply for and manage grant awards

  • Advise on commercial options and access to investment.

  • Help protect intellectual property and establish strong research, business and community partnerships


  • To be successful in this role you will have specialist and detailed knowledge of the international research funding landscape, and of initiating and delivering successful innovative initiatives in a large organisation. Additionally strong communication skills are crucial to be able to reach a variety of audiences.

    This role is eligible for applications from job sharers, and we offer agile working model meaning that you can work part of the week remotely.
