We are recruiting for Head of Nursing for Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC)who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards "great people, great place"., The Head of Nursing is responsible for the leadership and management of nursing and AHP's within UEC. They have joint responsibility for the effective delivery of quality, financial and operational performance of the service line including ownership of key clinical quality performance targets and measures for the service., Attached you will find the person specification document which provides more detail about the essential and desirable skills and experience needed for this role. The Head of Nursing for UEC is a great opportunity for a senior nursing leader with relevant experience to consider. Our UEC consists of an Emergency Department, Children's Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre, Same Day Emergency care and an Acute assessment Unit.

The Investing in our future programme is a £23.7m upgrade at St Mary's Hospital. This will create a new emergency care floor with a dedicated paediatric entrance, provide an new Intensive Care Unit and new enhanced care unit, reconfigure acute wards to improve the flow of patients through the hospital, and improve patient experience.

The UEC sits within the Unplanned care division, alongside Medicine, Pharmacy and Clinical site team. The Head of Nursing is part UEC leadership triumphant., The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is in partnership with Portsmouth Hospital NHS trust. This partnership is strengthens the clinical pathways for our patients and island community. We serve a population of approximately 150,000 residents, making the services we offer variable and personalised with a flexible approach to our service users.
