Full Job Description

  • Analyse and monitor the current capacity of the PLDC network.

  • Define, develop, and implement strategies to increase efficiency and productivity.

  • Forecast future capacity needs based on business trends and growth plans.

  • Identify potential constraints and propose solutions to mitigate them.

  • Be accountable for sourcing, purchasing and inventory management of PLDC components to ensure PLDC manufacturing plans are fulfilled. Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure raw material availability aligns with capacity plans.

  • Monitor and set the data standards detailed production schedules to ensure optimal productivity and meet business needs.

  • Analyse production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.

  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and constraints in the production process.

  • Define, implement, and lead the governance process for the allocation of manufacturing across the internal and external PLDC nodes.

  • Be the owner and accountable person for the PLDC NCP data that supports PLDC and Clinical Supply Chain fora, for example NCP forum, Supply Chain Board, Demand Review, Portfolio and Supply Review, We believe in an agile working culture for all our roles.     We encourage you to bring your collaborative spirit, disruptive thinking, team-leadership, and diverse perspective to be the Head of Network Capacity Planning (NCP) for Packaging Labelling Distribution, and Comparators (PLDC) in our Clinical Supply Chain (CSC). We are seeking a motivated and energetic person, who will enjoy a role that is operationally, strategically and governance focused. This role is pivotal to support the progression of GSK's pipeline, supplying medicine and vaccines to patients in GSK's Phase I -IV clinical trials. In this position you will support the Executive Director, Packaging, Labelling, Distribution and Comparators (PLDC) in the PLDC Leadership Team., We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Strong experience in planning in a manufacturing operation or business processes / operations, for example, rough-cut capacity planning, short-term scheduling, medium-long term planning, improvement of business operational processes and strategic assessment of capability.


  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain activities in a Pharmaceutical or Vaccine background

  • Strong experience in data analysis and data manipulation

  • Strong project management skills demonstrated within the business role

  • Ability to lead and influence decision making at a departmental level


  • Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain processes.

  • Strong experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or supply planning in either commercial or clinical supply chain
