Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced finance leader to take on the role of Head of Cost - Business Partnering, who will be responsible for managing the cost base of the UK business.

This is a high profile role, perfect for someone who is comfortable working & influencing senior business leaders and who thrives in large, technology driven organisations, where stakeholder management is key.

You are someone who loves helping businesses become more efficient - and this role gives you a mandate to help us do just that. As someone who is capable of delivering strategic insight and occasional tough messages, you are going to help the CFO and the UK leadership with the strategic financial direction.

What you'll do

The Head of Cost - Business Partnering will be at the centre of the UK business. Reporting into the CFO, you will:

  • Lead a small team of finance business partners that will connect with all areas of the business to deliver finance reporting, forecasting, budgeting and strategic analysis of the UK cost base

  • + Create new finance reports that help the business become more efficient
    + Close the month end accounts, ensuring all journals are correctly posted
    + Run both the annual budget and long term planning process, from a cost perspective
    + Support the building of business cases, ensuring they are commercially robust
  • Present monthly financial results to both the UK Leadership Team and global corporate finance functions

  • + Hold the UK accountable against our spending commitments, and proactively identifying opportunities for performance improvement
  • Design, operate and respond to all internal governance/ audit processes in line with Enterprise standards and expectations.

  • As part of the UK Finance Leadership Team, support the CFO in driving the broader finance agenda and improving employee engagement across the team.

    Qualified Accountant with demonstrable post qualified experience, some of which within FP&A or equivalent

  • Significant experience as a leader of finance professionals, some of which as part of the month end close process

  • Experience working in a large listed corporate either within Technology or a regulated environment

  • Strong presentation skills, specifically to senior leaders

  • Track record of delivering cost efficiencies through the insights of your teams

  • Has operated under IFRS or UK GAAP

  • Creates energy in their teams and an environment that fosters trust, collaboration, and belonging

  • A relentless focus on quality and timeliness

  • You adapt to change, embrace bold ideas, and are intellectually curious. You like to ask questions, test assumptions, and challenge conventional thinking

    This is a permanent position and can be based in either our Nottingham or London offices. Your team is located mainly in Nottingham - and so if based in London we'd expect you to travel between offices approx 3 times a month.

    We're big on collaboration and connection, so you'll be based in our Nottingham or London office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
