Full Job Description

DAS UK Group is looking to bring on board a driven and proficient Head of Corporate New Business to work as a key part of the BTE Partnerships Leadership team and play a critical role in securing the BTE profitable growth agenda.

The successful candidate will lead a team that is focused on targeting, pipelining and acquiring new business opportunities that fit within the profile of Strategic and Corporate Partnerships. In addition, you will look to provide an element support to existing Partnerships when large market tenders are triggered by providing expertise in the supporting material and process.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Understand the DAS business strategy and translate this into products and propositions.

  • Embed great leadership and build appropriate capabilities in order to create clarity and alignment around the strategic and operational objectives to create a culture where people want to be and do their best.

  • Building, maintaining and presenting the BTE Target universe of prospects.

  • Managing the delivery of the New Business plan within BTE by targeting and winning new business through strong pipelines, building relationships with prospects and responding with industry leading tenders delivered through strong expertise of bid management and owning the creation and delivery of the pitch material.

  • Managing the New Business process, including the ongoing review and improvement of pipeline monitoring, tender process and implementation / handover of new business to the relevant partnership managers.

  • Working closely with BTE partnerships to ensure a seamless transition to account managers of won business by working closely together to build an industry leading implementation plan for each of our wins, commensurate with their size and complexity.

  • Negotiating effectively with prospective partners, within agreed tolerances and in line with defined strategies.

    We are keen to hear from candidates with evidenced professional sales and management expertise, particularly new business acquisition within the Insurer, Bank and Corporate channels. It is essential that you have experience in effective tender responses, and aligning a business behind a tender response to ensure that DAS is able to respond in an industry leading manner.


  • In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • People management and leadership experience, including previous success with managing small teams and driving high performance

  • A tenacious and effective approach to exceeding targets (both individually and through a team)

  • Experience of influencing and effective collaboration with functions and stakeholders outside of immediate control, particularly in underwriting and pricing (matrix management)

  • Evident passion for delivery, area of expertise and sharing best practice

  • Communication and relationship building skills, including inspiring trust and influencing; constructively challenging points of view; communicating information in a clear and commercial manner; adapting style and content for different audiences

  • Business acumen (including good understanding of internal and external markets and best practice) and strong commercial and financial awareness

  • Demonstrable innovative approach and ability to develop meaningful long term strategic and operational plans (including driving continuous improvement)
