Full Job Description

  • Role is to help build a culture of compliance, ensure delivery of our strategic objectives, and provide support and guidance to our Compliance and Audit Manager.

  • Assist the MD & Operations Director in forming key objectives for the Compliance team.

  • Overhaul and take complete responsibility for our Compliance Monitoring Plan, for assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of compliance measures & controls.

  • Recognise and assess potential risks to business objectives & where appropriate take action to remove or reduce the impact or probability of the risk occurring & report as appropriate and undertake risk assessments.

  • Leading the effort to continually ensure our policies and procedures are adequate and in line with regulatory guidance, ensuring we have a strong compliance framework.

  • Provide compliance MI with appropriate analytic analysis to evidence the monitoring approach to senior management including the preparation of board reports to ensure management is up to date and are aware of key issues.

  • Reporting regularly on control effectiveness, identified risks, complaint handling, and duty outcomes.

  • Leading the process of detecting risks, identifying compliance failures, and being part of the resolution team

  • Lead and drive employee understanding of regulatory guidelines and how it impacts our business specifically.

  • To lead and champion our consumer duty agenda.

  • Lead the Audit and Complaints function which will include reviews to ensure compliance within our controls.

  • Ensure changes to regulation are communicated to all those affected.

  • Lead and manage the relationship with regulators and other relevant bodies.

    10+ years of experience of financial services

  • Strong understanding of UK financial services regulations specifically high cost

  • Hands on experience of managing a compliance monitoring plan

  • Strong and proven stakeholder management skills, and ability to help build a culture where customer outcomes are the focus

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proven ability to develop professional relationships and to influence colleagues at all levels

  • Strong team management and people development skills, ensuring a culture of leading by doing
