Full Job Description

As a Gym Supervisor at Sodexo at Cpl Budd VC Gym You'll will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the largest leisure / sporting facility on Merville Barracks. You will maintain a focus on customers satisfaction and lead our large team of lifeguards to play a crucial role in achieving Sodexo's mission statement of being a world leader in quality of life services. What you'll do:

  • You will control and implement the varying shift patterns for the full-time, part-time and casual staff employed at the facility. Ensuring overtime budgets are not exceeded.

  • Adhered to all Standard Operating Procedures, COSHH and Safe Systems of Work

  • Ensure there are Lifeguarding/Supervising planned sessions in the swimming pool

  • You will complete and submit of weekly pay variations and overtime.

  • Control and management of all staff, which includes all on site disciplinary matters, their shift rosters and leave requirements.

  • Attend monthly mandatory lifeguard staff training, maintain in-date NPLQ.

  • Liaise with the Receptionist regarding Gym bookings to ensure equipment is issued and/or set up as necessary including handing over and handing back climbing wall.

  • Take bookings in the absence of the receptionist/leisure assistant.

  • Check daily and weekly cleaning regimes within the facility in compliance with the contract requirements.

  • Be responsible for Key holding and opening/closing the Centre on a daily basis as per contract times

  • Be a champion of health and safety practices - spot a near miss? Report it to keep your colleagues safe!

    Experience in managing/leading a team

  • Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written

  • Knowledge of health and safety

  • Able to work on own initiative within team environment

  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards

  • ICT skills (experience in using Word, Excel and Microsoft outlook)

  • Customer focused individual, Please note: A current National Pool Lifeguard qualification is essential for this role - There will be a 2 stage interview with one including a NPLQ competency check
