Full Job Description

As a thriving UK manufacturer and exporter of unique industrial products, due to long term growth we are now seeking a qualified Group Financial Controller to provide strategic financial guidance to the organisation and to oversee all our global fiscal activities, ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations.

We have two UK manufacturing sites, a fast growing sales, service & distribution warehouse in USA, a wholly owned subsidiary in China, and a managed warehouse in Europe.

We sell world wide through a network of distributors and direct to large multi-national companies.

Alongside the profitable SME business operations the Directors also run a small registered charity giving grants to approved partners locally, nationally and internationally.

The successful candidate will be accountable for both entities.

Whilst being likely to have a career background within a manufacturing team you will ideally also be empathetic towards the aims and objectives of the charity.

You will need all the core fiscal skills associated with day to day operations of an exporter, and not be afraid of taking a share of detailed tasks, but will also enjoy being part of the wider strategic challenges as a key member of the management team and as support for the Directors and Trustees.

For both charity and business you will need to ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory accounts, advising on any changes in regulations.

You will be able to demonstrate a number of years stable and relevant experience, preferably with an SME, most likely within an ISO9001 quality audited manufacturing environment.

We invest substantially in new product development, so you will be familiar with Patent Box and R&D tax credit rules.

It is unlikely that a candidate without ACA or CIMA qualifications will be able to demonstrate sufficient depth of experience.

You role will include:
- Monitoring and analyses of financial data, preparing associated financial reports
- Implementing and adapting financial policies and procedures
- Ensuring accurate and timely financial reports, statements and third-party filings are prepared and submitted.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
- Supervise administrative staff and provide training as needed

Previous Experience will include:
- Proven knowledge gained in a Financial Controller or similar role
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, preferably including operations outside UK.
- Proficient in use of complex accounting or ERP software
- Strong financial management skills with the ability to analyse data and provide insights for the Directors and management team.
- Full understanding of accounts payable, payroll, VAT, import & export procedures, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
