Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Group Finance Manager to oversee our financial operations across multiple business units. This pivotal role requires an experienced professional with a strong background in finance management, group financial reporting and audit compliance.

Reporting to the Group FC, you will have overall management responsibility for the core accounting team so the ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, adept at managing financial strategies and providing insightful financial guidance to support our company's ambitious goals.

This role requires influencing stakeholders across the business and facilitating the team to provide exceptional service in a customer focused retail business. You will also have the chance to get involved in projects and with other areas of the Business in conjunction with the wider Finance Team.,

  • Managing a team of 3 direct reports, assisting with professional and personal development and ensuring they carry out their roles and responsibilities.

  • Completion of month-end and timely and accurate group financial statement reporting.

  • Compilation of group budget/forecast packs on all areas connected to month-end activities.

  • Assisting the Group Financial Controller with group budget, forecast and strategic planning process.

  • Completion of corporate month-end management accounts, including analysis on the performance variances to Budget, latest Forecast and Prior Year.

  • Monthly reviews with cost centre budget holders to manage cost and facilitate delivery to budget.

  • Resolving key accounting issues with the Group Financial Controller and keeping a track of risks and opportunities across all business segments.

  • Preparation of statutory accounts consolidation schedules.

  • Preparation of Financial Statements in line with FRS102.

  • Ensuring the annual audit process is planned and carried out effectively.

  • Ensuring robust controls and process improvements.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations completed with the relevant supporting paperwork and commentary.

  • Reviewing and releasing bank payments, making sure appropriate approvals are in place.

  • Continuous review and monitoring of the incumbent processes within reporting. Assess existing reporting processes; propose improvements for streamlining and efficiency.

  • Be a NAV accounting system champion for financial matters, test and agree the accountancy data flow for any new processes or change in existing processes.

    A recognised Accountancy Qualification (ACCA or ACA)

  • Trained and qualified within a Top 10 Accountancy Firm and have 3-5 years PQE in industry

  • A strong commercial interest and understanding of a retail / hospitality business

  • Solid experience of month end process and knowledge of the technical and regulatory requirements of accounts preparation and experience of consolidations.

  • Currently working in a management capacity where you can demonstrate the successful development and mentoring of team

  • Advance Microsoft Package Skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics / Navision

  • Ability to demonstrate gravitas as a functional expert and be able to explain complex ideas to Finance and Non-Finance colleagues
