Full Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Compliance, Ethics & Risk, this role leads and facilitates adherence to the JLR Code of Conduct and other Corporate Policies, ethical business behaviours and relevant laws and regulations.

The Group Compliance Senior Manager:

  • leads the identification of key compliance risks across JLR's global operations;


  • coordinates JLR's response to those risks;


  • advises the business on compliance risk management;


  • influences stakeholders across the business to drive compliant and ethical business behaviours;


  • maintains strong relationships with other second and third line of defence functions;


  • supports the Director of Compliance & Ethics with reporting to JLR Limited Board and JLRA plc Audit Committee., Lead, develop and manage the Compliance programme plan. This involves developing, designing and maintaining stakeholder reporting; monitoring the progress of the Compliance Programme, and driving a discipline in activity tracking and reporting across topics including:

  • + Anti-Bribery & Corruption;
    + Gifts & Hospitality;
    + Conflicts of Interests;
    + Insider Trading
    + Corporate Records Management.
  • Monitor and analyse the external environment to identify best practices and continuous improvement initiatives and develop these to Jaguar Land Rover processes.

  • Keep abreast of key trends and industry movements as part of the Compliance Programme by developing strong external networks.

  • Promote and develop a culture of doing business in the right way; driving continuous improvement of compliance practices; and working alongside key stakeholders within the company to advise and support on compliance related matters.

  • Develop and build productive relationships with both the business and external suppliers in managing requests for third party due diligence and related processes.

  • Cascade communications on Compliance matters from senior management and relevant leadership forums (for example, periodic Insider Trading notifications)

  • Develop and lead the implementation of Compliance policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Jaguar Land Rover global compliance framework.

  • Lead the development and oversight of relevant Compliance eLearning, other training and the Annual Compliance Declaration.

  • Lead the global network of JLR Compliance & Ethics champions.

  • Drive, lead and develop the monitoring framework to support compliance controls and reporting of non-compliances.

  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.


  • Key Performance Indicators

  • Frequency and quality of engagement with JLR's global business units;

  • Timely creation and maintenance of Corporate Policies and supporting standards, guidelines and procedures;

  • Maintenance of timely communications to JLR's global staff on compliance tasks, including insider trading communications, eLearning reminders, and compliance declaration reminders.

  • Completion rates for Compliance & Ethics training and Annual Compliance Declaration.

  • Timely processing of queries received by the Group Compliance team from internal or external stakeholders;

  • Monitoring compliance control activities and, where improvements are been identified, monitoring and driving completion of corrective actions.


  • Key Interactions

  • Functional/Chapter and overseas Compliance Champions;

  • Senior leadership and management in key functional relationships (eg, Legal & Compliance, Purchasing, HR);

  • Other second line of defence teams as required;

  • External compliance service providers.

    Previous experience in delivering of Compliance / Ethical Business programmes at senior management level

  • Good Organisational and Project Management skills

  • Proven experience in managing teams

  • Methodical approach to work

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
