Full Job Description

You will report to the Senior Group Compliance Assurance Manager providing second line assurance over each entity across the group.  This will be supported by planned internal thematic reviews and adhoc risk based reviews as required. The lead would also assist in the management and training of the Compliance Monitoring Team.,

  • Develop and deliver the Group Compliance Monitoring plan

  • Scope, implement and manage second line reviews across the group, focussing on regulatory and conduct risk topics, as per the compliance monitoring plan.

  • Support the Senior Group Compliance Manager as appropriate.

  • Deputise for the Senior Group Compliance Manager where required

  • Review compliance reports from the monitoring team to present findings and any conduct risks to key stakeholders and senior management.

  • Monitor and summarise how effectively entities across the group maintain processes and controls to ensure regulatory standards are met and good customer outcomes are achieved.

  • Track business unit actions to mitigate risk and support continuous improvement across the business.

  • Developing other members of the team from a monitoring perspective

  • Provide 2^nd line challenge for ongoing project activity as required.

  • Support other entities in delivering assurance reviews where required

  • Assist in the testing and oversight of Group Wide GMS performance

  • Assist in upskilling Group wide entities in performing effective assurance reviews where required


  • Key Performance Targets
  • Completion of second line reviews as per the annual monitoring plan

  • Provide effective and timely MI and reports to management and relevant forums/committees

  • Support and provide feedback to the business in a timely manner.

  • Tracking and regularly reporting of review actions.

  • Maintain all documentation within a central evidence suite.

    Strong ability to develop and lead an assurance team

  • Customer focused, understanding Compliance related challenges in each entity

  • Able to build open relationships and gain consensus with all stakeholders

  • Attention to detail. Previous compliance monitoring experience essential

  • Objective, timely and confident decision making skills

  • Able to negotiate with senior stakeholders resulting in positive outcomes

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain a high degree of respect, trust, and credibility at all levels
