Full Job Description

Clinical and Care Professional Leads support south east London-wide and borough programmes of work, therefore, there is an expectation that you currently work within south east London, and for borough based roles, within that borough.
The primary responsibility of the role is to provide strategic and operational support, and clinical input for in the interest of Greenwich residents with regards to the south east London (SEL) and national cancer agenda.
Strategically, the post-holder will represent the needs of Greenwich residents at forums within the borough and at an SEL and pan-London level. Operationally, the role will be the go-to point for all thematic queries and concerns relating to cancer pathways locally.
The post-holder will work alongside colleagues from primary, community and secondary care, commissioning, and the Cancer Alliance to develop the necessary relationships to support the early identification of cancers and delivery of high-performing pathways of care to patients.
Interview date: 12, 13^ or 14^th June - exact time/date tbc,

  • To act as the single point of contact for cancer related issues and opportunities working closely with primary, community services and third sector partners.

  • Working with other relevant clinical and care professional leads

  • To work with the public health team, on the prevention agenda and early identification, through championing screening opportunities, and other prevention measures (diet, exercise, smoking prevention etc.).

  • To take the lead in exploring opportunities to improve relationships and channels of communication, including understanding current barriers, and make recommendations for change locally and at a system-level. Develop a clear thematic understanding of the barriers to change and take the lead in trialing new approaches to engagement locally., Support local practices / PCNs / community services with the implementation of initiatives

  • Lead on the development of materials and delivery of education to primary, community and third sector colleagues - this may pertain to new pathways, cancer standards or opportunities to improve access or the quality of care
