Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a Graduate Water Quality Scientist to join our growing Regulatory Science department at our Cardiff Office.

Reporting into the Regulatory Science Manager, the role holder will be provided with training and development opportunities to enable them to provide support with a wide range of water quality related tasks.

Your responsibilities:

This scientific role is within the Regulatory Science Team of the Water Asset Management department. This team are responsible for providing the regulatory and scientific support necessary for the business to hold an Ofwat license to supply clean water to customers.

As a Graduate Water Quality Scientist, you will help the team with a wide range of tasks that help to ensure that the company remains compliant with the regulatory standards for water quality and water supply.

Tasks including but not limited to:

  • Interpretation and analysis of water quality datasets.

  • Assisting with the production of internal and external reports.

  • Data entry and helping manage the Water Quality Database.

  • Assisting with the drinking water monitoring program.

  • Provide assistance with the companies risk assessments.

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assisting with planning and monitoring of work for Field Service Team.

  • Provide input and help update company policies, procedures, and guidance documents.

  • Provide help and support across the wider business.

    Relevant work experience or some knowledge of the regulations that apply to the water industry is desirable.


  • Qualification:
  • A recent degree in an Engineering or Scientific subject.


  • Attributes:
  • Competent with the use of Microsoft Office and database systems.

  • Experience in handling, manipulating and analysing large volumes of data.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • Good time management and organisation skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Strong team player.

  • Eager to learn.

  • Full UK Driver's License.
