Global Portfolio Architect

Gentrack UK are currently hiring a Global Portfolio Architect. To drive the direction of Gentrack's cloud-native next gen products, and customers adoption of these, and have an opportunity to effect change at a leading technology organization.

Act as the bridge between our customers and our technologies, providing leadership and governance both internally on how we should shape and direct our technologies, as well as externally on how our customers should best adopt and teams should implement our technologies for our customers.

Role Specifics

• Lead technical designs across the entire portfolio of software components and provide oversight for design implementations and codebase


• Utilize other architects and technical leads as force-multipliers, mentoring them by providing high-quality feedback on their work


• Make clear, simple, and technically superior design decisions functional, non-functional and infrastructural across data structures, algorithms, architectural patterns and 3rd party products and platforms


• Unite Business, Technology and Data strategies into a technology roadmap


• Lead the transformation of Gentracks technology estate


• Align innovation with strategy and business need


• Provide strategic thought-leadership for Gentrack


• Commission key strategy change and drive adoption.


• Operate across technical, organisation and process challenges to drive design of enterprise solutions.
  
  Experienced software architect with superb interpersonal and technical skills, and vast experience designing, architecting and building Enterprise-scale software products that run and scale effectively in production.


• 8+ years designing commercial Enterprise-grade software products, making key architecture decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open source / 3rd party technologies


• 7+ years experience in large scale product development


• Proven experience working at Portfolio architect level in cloud-native computing environment within a global organization


• Excellent grasp of cloud-native software principles, vast experience with public cloud, experience designing microservices architectures


• Experience making important architecture and design decisions, such as application of architecture design patterns or open source technologies


• At least 3 years of experience as the chief decision-maker for design decisions involving the use of cloud (preferably, AWS).


• Experience with designing and building SaaS systems from version 1 to production


• Vast Utilities and Energy industry experience functional (contact to cash) and technological


Other helpful skills :

• Understanding of the energy industry, including key companies.


• Experience working in tech or for a software vendor.


• Experience in driving international growth through marketing initiatives.


• Experience working in a start-up environment or smaller company with a big vision.


• A generalist by nature happy to get stuck in across the marketing mix.


This role is in the detail, end-to-end and hands on. You'll need to be a self-starter with knowledge, ideas and the ability to inspire others.
