Full Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented, experienced General Manager with a passion for traditional pubs. This is a prerequisite for this role; commitment to the concept and the desire to push the standards in line with this is key.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for draught and cask ales and excellent customer service, ensuring the venue is always warm and welcoming to all customers. We are looking out for a manager to instil these values in other mangers and staff in the site.

Previous experience in an GM/AGM role is essential, preferably from a high volume, fast paced venue. Please do not apply if you do not have these.

Some of the key features of the role include:

  • Effective financial management and budget adherence with regards to wage budget implementation, staffing costs, stock orders. Meeting the business demands and adjusting to these appropriately in line with forecasts.

  • Cash-ups/closing procedures, weekly PLU reports.

  • Proactive recruitment and consistent, productive training, as well as constructing and implementing training programs to aid this and maintain standards.

  • Contributing ideas to push the standards in your venue with regards to product offering, menus, and events.

  • Dealing with disciplinary issues effectively and appropriately, following the correct procedure and executing good judgement.

  • Ensure staff are aware of all aspects of their roles: alcohol awareness, challenge 25, safe food handling, COSHH handling, and ensuring your teams are trained in all of these.

We're opening our next Pub based on Duke Street in the coming months.
