Full Job Description

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team on a permanent,
remote (UK based) or hybrid basis. This role is a key part of the production
team, focused on coding and integrating user interfaces along with the
server-side logic of our web applications. Your responsibilities will include
developing and enhancing UI components, ensuring they are responsive,
scalable, accessible, user friendly and above all a delight to use. You will work
closely with the entire business to implement and improve interfaces optimised
for performance and compatibility across devices, and to develop RESTful APIs
using Node.js and TypeScript within the AWS ecosystem.

You'll also play a key role in maintaining our software documentation and
contributing to automated testing to guarantee the resilience and dependability
of our applications. This role demands sharp problem-solving abilities and a
personality that thrives in a collaborative setting.

YOUR TEAM
As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll be a vital member of our lively, cross-functional
production crew, reporting to the Head of Software Engineering. Your teammates
are a fantastic mix of talented engineers, geo-spatial wizards, leading UX
research and designers, and product delivery rockstars. We highly value
teamwork here, whether it's tackling tough problems, dreaming up cool new
features, or fine-tuning what we've got. You will be part of a supportive,
fun-loving startup where collaboration is at the heart of our success.

  • Strong foundation in full-stack development, responsive web design, and


  • API development.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, and front-end


  • frameworks like ReactJS and Redux.
  • Experienced in backend technologies, particularly Node.js, and familiar


  • with AWS services including AWS Lambda.
  • Ability to design, build and maintain RESTful APIs.

  • Capable of creating and maintaining software documentation, and


  • implementing end-to-end automated testing.
  • Knowledge of GIS applications and experience with mapping services like


  • Mapbox is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
