Full Job Description

We are a small batch, craft tea brewing business looking for a food production worker who will be responsible for bottling tea, packing customer orders and running errands around the kitchen.

You will be working in a contemporary, fully air-conditioned, shared commercial kitchen with floor to ceiling windows - right in the heart of New Covent Garden Market, home to some of London's most exciting food start ups.

  • Responsibilities

    Your role will sit with our small production team based in a commercial kitchen.

    The food operations assistant is primarily responsible for bottling our tea according to documented processes from start to finish, adhering to strict food hygiene and safety requirements.

    Operations:
  • bottling our tea according to documented processes, including capping and labelling

  • cleaning, sanitising and maintaining a clean workspace

  • washing kitchen equipment

  • unloading deliveries, packing customer orders and stocktaking

  • daily opening / closing procedures where required

  • work according to established level of food hygiene and safety requirements

  • have a willingness to learn attitude and able to adapt to changes in hygiene standards

    working knowledge of a commercial kitchen and understanding of its hazards (i.e. cross contamination, allergens)

  • able to utilise appropriate processes and controls to mitigate risks


  • Quality
  • monitor output / products against set standards and report broken / faulty equipment and raw materials

  • able to identify when a quality breach is identified and able to follow set procedures to raise and rectify this


  • Problem Solving
  • understand how to identify, prioritise and address problems which arise and spot improvement opportunities

  • demonstrate initiative and come to the team with suggestions / recommendations

  • Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen is highly desirable

  • Minimum 1 year experience in food preparation

  • Level 2 Health & Safety certificate, Kitchen: 1 year (preferred)

    UK residents only - must have the right to work in the UK

  • Successful applicants subject to a 1-2 hour trial shift

    Pay: £12.00-£13.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
