Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint an outstanding individual to join us at Cheadle Hulme School as Food Preparation & Nutrition Technician., We believe a successful educational experience involves more than pupil and teacher; it involves a broad network of people who each contribute to the development, growth and experience of the individual.
As such, our staff are our greatest asset, and the key to our success. We want to attract and retain the best, provide them with encouragement, stimulus and ensure that they feel valued as an integral part of the school community.

Our Vision and Values
Our vision is to develop and foster in all members of the School community, a desire to learn, question and persevere in all that they do, and to embody our Values. We will enable our pupils to flourish in their lives whilst at CHS but also beyond, thus making a positive impact on the world around them.
Through an active, academic and altruistic curriculum, our pupils are provided with opportunities to help them make the very best of their journey at CHS. At the centre of their CHS experience lies a set of core values instilled in all members of our CHS community:
Integrity
Endeavour
Resilience
Compassion
Contribution
Our Campus
Located ten miles south of Manchester, Cheadle Hulme School is set in 83 acres of countryside with fine historical Victorian buildings. Our campus includes first class facilities, which have benefited from significant investment in recent years, including a new fitness centre, a refurbishment of the School's principal performance space, the development of a dedicated Sixth Form Building, and a new dining space.

Our Green Plan
As a school, we have a central role to play in educating our entire community about the importance of environmental sustainability. In an ever-changing world, we are committed to minimising the impact of school life on our environment, and supporting the global efforts to save our planet. Through our 'Green Plan' we aim to educate and empower our community to make positive changes, and our aspiration is to be Carbon NetZero by 2030.

As well as embodying our Waconian Values: Integrity, Endeavour, Resilience, Compassion and Contribution, the ideal candidate will be a team player, committed to supporting the delivery of high quality teaching from Year 8 to Year 11.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has an excellent understanding of food hygiene, and can work in a fast paced environment to ensure the cleanliness and organisation of classrooms for practical lessons. The ideal candidate will have excellent food preparation skills and be able to trial recipes for effectiveness and reliability.

Along with enthusiasm and willingness to show initiative, the ideal candidate will be able to work independently, managing their workload and prioritising tasks to make efficient use of time. IT skills are essential for supporting the production of audio visual materials including video and photo guides, and the ability to manage stock levels and use stock rotation to avoid food wastage are also required.

Excellent interpersonal skills are needed as the post holder will be required to work with people across the organisation; supporting pupils before and after school on days when they have practical lessons, liaising with the Cleaning and Estates team to ensure the rooms are clean and well maintained, and assisting teaching staff in the preparation of materials and demonstrations.

Moreover, their unwavering commitment to promoting fairness, equality, and the welfare of young people will underscore their dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
