Full Job Description

In September 2023 we launched a brand new Ministry of Food education programme in Secondary Schools aimed at teaching Key Stage 3 students how to cook. After a successful pilot year we are now recruiting schools for September 2024. This role will support the wider team to ensure the programme is the best it possibly can be going forward. Using their education experience and building on what has already been started, this individual will help to roll out the ministry of Food schools programme across the UK by creating accessible and relevant resources for teachers and students.

This will be a 4 month fixed term contract, working 3 days per week, and the perfect opportunity to gain experience in the Social Impact sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Food Education team in developing and expanding the Ministry of Food Schools programme across the UK.

  • Help build our Ministry of Food Schools Programme resources to ensure they are relevant and useful for all schools starting in September 2024. Including writing lesson plans, schemes of work, and creating fun and inspiring supporting materials & worksheets

  • Work with the Food Education team and participating schools to review & identify any additional materials that need to be developed to support teachers. Help advise our web designers to create a fully functioning resource hub where teachers can access all the information they need.

  • Previous experience working in food education in secondary schools with a good understanding of the Key Stage 3 food curriculum.

  • Previous experience of writing and creating education materials. Excellent relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Set up by our visionary founder, The Jamie Oliver Group is a global and integrated food brand with a mission to help build a healthier, happier world through the joy of food.

  • From media and restaurants to products, partnership and Ministry of Food, every part of our diverse business has a key role to play in making it easier for people to cook and enjoy better, healthier, more sustainable, and joyful meals. Whether that's in our homes, in restaurants or workplaces.

As a proud B Corp, we are committed to educate and inspire people, workplaces, schools and communities all over the world, to help make better choices, one meal at a time.

At The Jamie Oliver Group we celebrate the fact that everyone is different and we treat every colleague with dignity and respect.
